Our world is so twisted and backwards,
never as it seems
it gives us a twisted reflection of reality
where nothing fits with congruent seams

It's the brightest smile
that hides the darkest fear
It's the loudest laugh
that hides how we truly feel, insecure

The most beautiful face
can hold many hidden scars
whether from being hit
or nightmares of accidents with cars

The most intensive eyes
can hide the darkest thoughts
from nightmares
to lessons brutally taught

The most outwardly happy people
can hide the most pain
the kind that sucks
and life away it drains

The nicest shirts
can hide the most nasty bruises
but they don't know, and why should they care?
Their families all went on cruises

The kindest hearts
can hide the deepest wounds
from all the breaks, and all the pieces
all tied up and bound

So the next time you see someone
are you actually seeing them?
Or just what you think you know
and not what's within?

Before you decide to judge someone,
get to know them first
walk a few hundred miles in their shoes
only then can you decide for better or worse.
